The game was as good as over in the first twenty minutes when Petherton failed to make their first up tackles and win any of their set piece ball. Wyvern attacked through their lively scrum half and a big centre to make inroads into Pethy territory.
Wyvern took a half time lead of 21- 0. The second half saw Pethy start to go through a couple of phases but a lack of fitness or sloppy passing gave Wyvern the chance to clear their lines. A slick move involving Kirk, Freeman and Pearn gave the Pethy right-winger an opportunity to dive over in the corner.
Pethy showed spirit in parts but generally this is work in progress.
