Captain Simon Gingell writes I was really pleased with the effort and quality that the boys displayed in the first game of the season, however I was disapointed by the tries that the opponents scored in the last few minutes. The team showed plenty of character with the experience of Freeman, Coles, Potter and Williams guiding the team through some difficult moments.
Petherton scored eight tries at regular intervals throughout the game including some which went the length of the field. It was difficult to pick stand out performers as everyone played a vital role in a solid performance. It was a physical game with many impressive hits coming in from the Pethy front eight which will stand us in good shape for the away fixture at Martock next weekend.
Try scorers for Petherton were Murdock, Tregenna, Williams L (2), Stenson, Williams B, Sutherland -Earl and Smith with Freeman kicking 22 points.
