Petherton seconds recorded their third straight victory without conceding a point on Saturday away at Crewkerne.
Despite only scoring one try the game was quite a one sided affair with Petherton dominating possession and securing most, if not all, of their own scrums and lineouts. All Petherton's points came in the first half with number 8 Chris Richards making the break through after 10 minutes following a superb rolling maul from a lineout. Richards peeled off to score virtually unopposed. Fly half Pearce who had just moments earlier missed a routine penalty attempt made amends by converting the try. Petherton's final score came 10 minutes before the end of the half with a Pearce penalty.
The second half, despite there being no scores, was an entertaining one, with Petherton's backs making some good territory from some well worked moves. However, whenever it seemed a try was coming a penalty was conceded and territory and momentum was lost.
There was no stand out performance by any one player, just a good solid team display, which resulted in a comfortable win.
