North Petherton 1st XV 21 Torquay Athletic 21

North Petherton opened up their 2011/12 campaign with a 21-21 draw against Torquay Athletic on Saturday.

Petherton stormed out of the blocks in the opening minutes and took a 21-9 lead into the break thanks to tries from Jamie Cox and Gavin Hancock.

Three penalties from Jervis Manapenu and a conversion from Harry Roberts made up the rest of the Petherton scoring.

In the second-half Torquay responded with two tries of their own courtesy of an interception and a well worked move.
