Heineken 10s Rules and Regulations
This autumn, North Petherton Rugby Football Club are proud to be one of the host clubs for the Heineken 10s, the first ever national club tournament of its kind in England.
On Saturday October 18th 2008 North Petherton RFC will play host to local teams across the region, with over 200 players likely to be involved in a day of social rugby ahead of another competitive season at the highest level.
With North Petherton RFC receiving a donation from tournament sponsors Heineken to host the competition, and a further donation from the Dutch brewers available to the winning team, the day promises to be a fantastic occasion for players and supporters alike to enjoy rugby.

There is an entrance fee of £150 per team, although teams can get that money back through beer tokens that will be handed out on the day.
England Rugby World Cup winner Will Greenwood will act as ambassador for the tournament. He said:
“The Heineken 10s represents a lot of what rugby is all about to me. It promises to be a fun, social and enjoyable day of rugby with your mates. And all the host rugby clubs will benefit by receiving a legacy donation from Heineken.
“I have always enjoyed 10s as a format – and I’d urge local teams to sign up to the competition.”

HEINEKEN RAISES IT’S GLASS TO GRASS ROOTS RUGBY
On the day the draw for the Heineken Cup 2008/9 was announced, Heineken, proud sponsors of the world’s leading club rugby tournament since its introduction in 1995, today announced a significant extension of their involvement in the game by unveiling plans for a brand new social rugby tournament.
The Heineken 10s, which will kick off this autumn as the perfect prelude to another exciting season of European competition, is the first ever national club 10s tournament in England, with 16 different clubs nationwide hosting matches for over 3500 amateur players.
As part of the tournament, Heineken will also be investing further in grass roots rugby via a special Heineken legacy scheme which will enable clubs to make improvements to their club houses.
