For the second time this season North Petherton's Tom Williams showed great composure under pressure to ensure victory for his side, and an all important 2 league points, with the last kick of the game. As he did against Tor in November, Williams again converted a last minute try from the touchline to snatch an unlikely victory.
Although the last few minutes provided an exciting finish to the match for the home side, in truth they were fortunate to win the match after a below par performance, particularly in defence where Bristol Harlequins exploited some alarming gaps and missed tackles to score far too easily. However, Pethy showed great commitment and determination throughout, particularly in the last 10 minutes when they twice fell 8 points behind the visitors and looked to have lost the match. Instead, they poured forward from the re-start to force a penalty in front of the posts, duly converted by Tom Williams, and followed this with a try from the last play of the match by centre Russ Williams. This vital win for Petherton keeps them in third place in the Somerset Premier table, separated on points difference from second placed Tor, with both teams still just 1 point behind leaders Burnham-On-Sea. All of the weekends results can be seen below.

North Petherton Seconds lost an entertaining derby encounter at Burnham, unfortunately letting slip a 20 point first half lead to lose 40-28 after being reduced to 14 men due to injuries. The Steward family were again prominent on the scoresheet for Pethy through tries by dad Larry and sons Ollie and Lloyd. However, Burnham's good running play exploited the space given to them in the last 15 minutes when Pethy were reduced to 14 men, and they scored 3 quick tries to take the match away from Pethy. The Seconds are now marooned in the bottom half of the Somerset Three table in 7th place, although they have games in hand over the teams above them. Weston Thirds remain top of the table, 2 points in front of Castle Cary. All of the weekends results can be seen below.
