North Petherton were without a match for the third week running after Keynsham Seconds were unable to raise a side for Saturday's return league fixture at Beggars Brook. However, Pethy were awarded a walkover victory and have moved back up to third in the Somerset One table as a result.
After two weeks of heavy rain across Somerset all the other matches in Somerset One at the weekend did go ahead (see the results below). Due to the poor weather, only one match took place the week before when Old Culverhaysians beat Crewkerne. Nailsea and Burnham remain in pole position in the league table after wins over Crewkerne and Bristol Barbarians respectively.

The Seconds ended a run of three successive league defeats on Saturday when they eased past a youthful Castle Cary side. Having played well in two narrow defeats since christmas, they were happy with the win but felt that it should have been by more points. Colts winger Mike Stevens led the way with two tries for Pethy. Read the match report here.
Pethy Seconds remain in fifth place in the league but have now drawn level on points with fourth placed Castle Cary and are only one point behind third placed Midsomer Norton Fourths. The top two (Taunton Thirds and Wivvey Seconds) remain out of reach. The results from the last two weekends can be seen below.

North Petherton's Colts were also in action away at Taunton and went down by 26 points to 14. It was a 'game of two halves' for Pethy, who were virtually out of the match at half-time before dominating the second period with tries from Sam Tozer and Steve Potter, before running out of time to complete the comeback. Read the match report here.
Two postponed matches in recent weeks means that there is something of a fixture pile-up for Pethy's Firsts this coming weekend. As this was due to be a free league weekend, the RFU have automatically re-scheduled Petherton's match away against Imperial for Saturday, meaning that Pethy will now have to play their delayed Somerset Vase Round 2 match away at Wells on Sunday afternoon.
There is currently no Second or Third Team fixtures for this weekend, although the Under 13s, 14s, 16s, and 17s will all be in action against their counterparts from Burnham on Sunday morning.
