Seconds move up into third place in Somerset Three South

Pethy Seconds continued their recent good run of results with a comprehensive victory at Burnham on Saturday. They scored 8 tries in total, 4 of which were scored by Captain Larry Steward. Two of his sons, Lloyd and Ollie, also chipped in with a try each in what was one of the Second Team's best displays of the season. Read the match report here.

North Petherton's Firsts were denied the opportunity to take on high-flying Somerset Premier side Winscombe at the weekend as their opponents had to play a re-arranged league match. With several players carrying injuries, the Firsts instead held an extra training session ahead of their crunch promotion clash at Nailsea this coming weekend.

There were three matches in Somerset One as the fixtures lost to bad weather in January were played. Table-topping Burnham-On-Sea enhanced their position with a massive victory at Broad Plain, and now only need to win two of their remaining five fixtures to secure promotion. Wiveliscombe's win has moved them into fourth place and a defeat for Pethy at Nailsea would bring them into contention for the second promotion spot this season. Hopefully though, that will not happen!
