Special award trophy – Nick Gibbs Award went to Josh Bolam of the Under 12’s. |
Never ones to disappoint, the Under 16/17’s had also decided upon a few of their own awards for the year. Captain Leigh Palmer selected Steven Potter for the Captains Clubman Award for his continued commitment to the club for not only playing in the Under 16 / 17’s team, but also for refereeing throughout the season for the Youth Section and running the touch line on Saturdays for the senior sides. In return, Leigh’s team mates rewarded him by presenting him with his own specially adapted No 8’s shirt complete with Velcro for ease of access for the paramedics in future matches!

The Coaches also got together and presented Joe Latham with the “Most injured player in one season” award! All 7 of the Under 16/17’s coaches were also given a special thanks as was Jane Saunders, along with Karen and Moira, for feeding them all throughout the season (not easy I have to tell you!). “Tour Organisers” Phil and Marie Winn were also thanked for the tour earlier in the year to the Isle of Wight.
Special recognition also went to player Myles Skinner from the Under 15’s, who received the Evans Trophy, Sam Butler, also from the Under 15’s, who received the Silent Williams trophy, and Ben “Smiler” Sellick of the Under 16/17’s who received the Young Bucks trophy. The evening was ended with a disco for those with the stamina to continue into the early hours.
