Old Sulians' skillful backs were too good for Petherton as they inflicted a second league defeat in a row. Pethy struggled to create enough try-scoring chances and were made to work hard to contain the fluent running game of the Somerset One leaders, who scored four well-crafted tries. In defeat Petherton were able to take some positives from the match, but will need to improve significantly if they are to challenge the top two for a promotion spot. Read the match report here.
North Petherton have now dropped down to fourth place in the league and are 6 points adrift of the still undefeated Old Sulians and Winscombe, although Pethy have a game in hand. Broad Plain moved above Petherton into third after beating Burnham, and Somerton picked up their first ever victory in Somerset One at Martock, although they remain bottom due to their 2 point deduction from the first weekend of the season.
