Pethy Colts made a good start to the season on Sunday, although they started very slowly, with the players who haven't been to pre-season training standing out like sore thumbs. Eventually, they remembered last season’s training and got themselves back in to it.
Cullompton scored the first try when a lucky bounce sent one of their players clear down the wing. They were unable to convert and the score remained 5-0 at half time.
After a good team talk, Pethy came out full of confidence and produced some very good rugby, scoring three tries, all converted. Let’s hope this will encourage more players to turn up for training on Tuesday and Thursdays (7pm). New players would be welcome.
Scorers: Tries — Sam Tozer (2), Toby Harris. Cons: Dan Pearce (3).
