Another six tries earned league leaders Petherton Seconds their third convincing victory of the season at Beggars Brook on Saturday.

Winger Tom Stanley looks for a pass inside

Against a big Wivy scrum, the home forwards struggled in the first half and their line-out was poor all game. Because of that, they led only 14-9 at half time, the visitors having kicked three penalties.

Centre Sam Hoare (with the ball) was prominent in defence and attack for Pethy

Wivy didn't score again, a try, until the final minutes, by which time great inter-play between forwards and backs, as well as a much-improved scrum, had put Pethy out of sight.

Fellow centre Sam Williams was also influential throughout

Fly-half Cameron Kirk opened the scoring after a run down the blind side centre and Sam Hoare kicked the first of his five conversions.

There was a second try in successive matches for hooker Matt Glanville and other touchdowns came from flanker Keith Robinson (2), skipper Larry Steward and one of Larry's sons Lloyd.

Full-Back Chris Mantyk made a number of great tackles during the match, including this hit on the visiting captain

Steward, the veteran former Bridgwater & Albion forward, is proving an inspirational captain and even managed to break the table in the changing room during his vehement pre-match team talk!

As ever, Captain Larry Steward led from the front

Outstanding in a good team display was Chris Mantyk, usually a flanker, but playing at full-back, where he made some tremendous tackles.
