Petherton Seconds began their league season with a 12-try demolition of Taunton at Beggars Brook on Saturday.

Ben Harvey on the rampage

Lock Ben Harvey (formerly Walford) was in rampaging form as Pethy took a 33-19 lead at half time, having gifted the visitors two tries with poor line-out play. In the second half, Taunton simply capitulated.

Harvey was outstanding in a great display by the pack, where Pete Kingston, Wayne Pither and skipper Larry Steward also played well. New scrum-half Neil Lennox ran the game and went over for two tries.
