Petherton Seconds gave another disappointing display at the weekend, failing to score until the second half, when they had the wind behind them.
The amazingly long grass on the pitch did not help, but their much-changed side never gelled, lacking penetration in the centre, where the direct running of the injured Russell Potter is being badly missed.
Second row Mike Coles, whose promotion to the first team is surely imminent, was again outstanding, scoring a try. The other came from scrum-half Chris Wand, while fly-half Cameron Kirk converted both tries. Full-back Pete Wollacott made a number of try-saving tackles. He and the powerful Coles were the only players to emerge with any credit.
