A strong performance from the forwards earned North Petherton a comfortable win and a spot in the next round of the vase - and the scoreline should have been greater but for some handling errors in good scoring positions.
A Tom Williams penalty gave Petherton a 3-0 lead playing up the hill in the first half, and they stretched the advantage after the interval.

Two more penalties made it 9-0 and they sealed the victory with a try by flanker Matt Brown in the last minute, who took a short pass off fly-half Sutherland-Earl to burst through a gap in the defence following a Pethy lineout inside the Combe 22. Tom Williams landed the conversion
Winger Ben Williams said missed oppertunities cost Petherton a more convincing scoreline. He said "They were quite a strong side but our pack dominated in the scrummaging and the tackle breakdowns. We had about 70% of the possession and many scoring chances but the last pass was always dropped or went astray, so 16-0 doesn't really reflect how well we played. We should have put a few more on them."

"They did have one or two breakaways, but our defence was solid. Our penalty count was much lower, which is something we have been working on. In the past few games we've given away far too many penalties."
Tom Williams had a strong game at full-back with some fine cover tackling, while second row Ben Harvey was also outstanding.

Petherton travel to Keynsham 2nds on Saturday hoping to continue the momentum they have built since beating previously undefeated Broad Plain, and they will be boosted by returning players from holiday and injury.
